Game Convergence Space to Become Core Hub of Busan Game Industry

For the first time in Busan, a 'Game Convergence Space' is being pursued through the public property entrustment development method. This facility is intended as a space to support game content companies, providing residency spaces for startup companies, startup support facilities, and comfortable rest areas. The site is the last unused land within the Centum City General Industrial Complex, targeting construction to begin in 2026, and it is expected to establish itself as a center for Busan's game industry.

The public property entrustment development method involves the corporation using its own project costs to build the buildings on the land provided by the city. Although the corporation bears the initial costs, it will recover the principal and interest expenses through rental income over the next 30 years. Once the entrustment period ends, the corporation will return the management rights of the building back to the city.

A total of seven entries were submitted for this competition, and five entries were selected through the first round of evaluations. After a second round of evaluations, the final winning entry was determined. 'Centum Stage Up' received high praise for its sophisticated design and flexible workspace composition, with particular attention given to eco-friendly building elements such as zero energy and green building certification. This is expected to contribute to the development of Busan's game industry.

Additionally, the Mayor of Busan stated, "We will actively support the creation of a startup ecosystem so that local game companies can have competitiveness in the global market," expressing a strong commitment to the development of the local game industry.
