Busan City Proceeds with 'Senior Job Support Project' for Small and Medium Enterprises
Busan City is starting the '2025 Busan Senior Job Support Project' to create jobs for the elderly and reduce the labor cost burden on businesses.
The main content of this project is to provide up to 48 million won in support to companies hiring job seekers over 60 years old, taking into account the industrial characteristics of Busan and the demands of businesses.
Through this, the city plans to promote the economic activities of the elderly and alleviate the labor cost burden on companies.
Up to 48 Million Won Support for Hiring Workers Over 60
Busan City provides support to companies that newly hire job seekers over the age of 60 in the 'Busan Senior Suitable Job' sector. This support amounts to 600,000 won per person per month for 8 months, and companies can receive support for up to 10 people. Thus, the total support that a company can receive can reach up to 48 million won.
Additionally, workers hired through this program will receive an employment promotion allowance of 100,000 won per month for a maximum of 600,000 won over 6 months. This structure benefits both companies and workers, and Busan City is making various efforts to promote employment for the elderly.
Selection of 'Senior Suitable Jobs' Reflecting Busan's Industrial Characteristics
This project focuses not only on providing jobs for the elderly but also on enabling businesses and the elderly to grow together. To this end, job categories have been selected based on the 'Senior Suitable Jobs' analyzed by the Busan Research Institute.
The main selected job fields include management, office, finance, and insurance-related jobs, engineering and technical research positions, education and social welfare sectors, as well as installation, maintenance, and production jobs.
In particular, companies hiring in management, office, finance, insurance, education, and social welfare sectors will receive preferential treatment during the selection process. Through this approach, it is hoped that more elderly individuals can find stable employment opportunities.
New 'Senior With Job' Program Offers Additional Benefits for Hiring Two Part-time Workers
This year, a new system called 'Senior With Job' has been introduced. This system provides additional benefits when hiring two or more part-time workers for the same job.
This can be seen as an effort to resolve the hiring issue arising from the preference of companies for full-time workers while many workers prefer part-time work. When companies hire two part-time workers who work split shifts or on different days, they can receive up to 1.2 million won in operational cost support.
Additionally, companies that rehire workers after retirement can also utilize the benefits of this program, thereby continuously encouraging the participation of the elderly in economic activities. This change presents a good opportunity to establish a win-win relationship between businesses and workers.
Online Applications Available Through 'Senior Busan Jobs' Starting March 17
The support project being implemented is targeted at small and medium-sized enterprises and job seekers over the age of 60 living in Busan. Part-time workers working more than 15 hours a week and non-regular workers can also participate.
Interested companies can apply online through the 'Senior Busan Jobs' website (senior.busanjob.net) starting March 17.
Detailed job information and application procedures can be found in the recruitment notice posted on the Busan Jobs website.
Expected Effects in the Future
The 'Busan Senior Suitable Job Support Project' being implemented in Busan is receiving attention as an important policy to respond to the aging society.
This project is expected to contribute to revitalizing economic activities among the elderly and reducing the labor cost burden on companies.
In particular, by creating conditions for elderly individuals to continue working based on their accumulated social experiences, it will greatly help alleviate the labor shortages faced by small and medium enterprises in the Busan area.
