Busan has been selected as the host of the National Sports Festival again after 25 years since the '81st National Sports Festival' in 2000. The opening ceremony will take place at 6 PM on Friday, October 17, at the Asian Main Stadium, which can accommodate 53,000 spectators.
The closing ceremony is scheduled to be held at the same stadium at 6 PM on Thursday, October 23.
This festival will feature 50 events at 82 competition venues, of which 48 are official events and 2 are demonstration events. About 30,000 participants are expected.
The 45th National Paralympic Sports Festival will be held for 6 days from October 31 to November 5, 2025.
The opening ceremony will take place at 5:30 PM on Friday, October 31, at the Asian Main Stadium, and the closing ceremony will be held at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, November 5, at the Sajik Indoor Gymnasium.
This event will see approximately 10,000 participants competing in 31 events across 38 venues.
Inspection of Preparation Status and Key Focus Areas
On March 28, 2025, a report meeting on the preparation of the National Paralympic Sports Festival was held in the conference room of Busan City Hall. About 50 officials from the city hall, districts, the city office of education, police department, sports association, and the disabled sports association gathered to review various details and exchange information.
This meeting focused on various important matters.
Firstly, the schedule for the construction and maintenance of sports venues was reviewed, and preparations related to operations such as accommodations, food and beverage, transportation, and safety were assessed. Additionally, methods to welcome the athletes and provide conveniences were discussed.
In-depth discussions were also held regarding the production and cultural programs of the opening and closing ceremonies, along with ways to promote the festival and expand community participation.
Notably, three new venues, including a mountain sports venue, are scheduled to be completed before the festival, and maintenance work on venues in each district is planned to be completed by June 2025. This aims to enhance athletic performance and ensure the safety of spectators.

From team sports such as soccer and baseball to track and field and swimming events, as well as weight classes such as judo and wrestling, a wide range of options will be available.
